Dear St Monica's families and friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all in the community for your support during a very busy Term 3 at St Monica’s.
Particular thanks goes to the St Monica's staff for their professionalism and commitment to providing a holistic education for your children. Thank you especially for your good humour and patience through what has been another terrible flu season. I hope you all have a well-earned rest and return to St Monica’s next term refreshed, rejuvenated and revitalised.
Thank you also St Monica's Parents and Carers for all you do to assist us at school fundraising, canteen, library book covering, uniform shop, school council representatives, book week costumer prep, father's day breakfast, coaching our sporting teams, gardening, the list goes on!! We could not provide the excellent learning environment without your ongoing support – thank you.
WALKATHON UPDATE!!!
SUMMER UNIFORM - A reminder that students are to wear their Summer Uniform again in Term 4. Please check the wardrobe or visit the uniform shop on Thursday 6 October (2pm - 4pm) to update the summer wardrobe! We will have the usual transition period early in Term 4 to cater for any unpredictable weather.
Enjoy the break with your family and friends. Safe travels to those families who are going interstate or overseas. See you all again in Term 4!!
Happy Birthday to the following students celebrating a Birthday this week and throughout the school holidays -

On Friday 16 September the entire St Monica’s community headed out for the school Walkathon. The children were all extremely excited to be out walking and chatting with their friends. The 3km walk took in the lovely scenery close to Ginninderra Creek and the beautiful blooming spring blossoms. We were incredibly lucky with the sunny weather and only had to avoid a few puddles along the way! It was great to arrive back at school to enjoy a well-deserved icey pole and some fruit with our friends.
A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who came along to help. A day like this is not possible without your support in the canteen, along the paths and at the checkpoints. An extra big thank you to Keir Lawless who coordinated all the fabulous class prizes.
We appreciate all your sponsorship donations and are looking forward to purchasing some exciting resources for our students.
Congratulations to the following students who won the Walkathon lucky dip prizes for their class.
Marlie H, Annabelle W, Eva B, Leo S, Thomas S, Selina L, Jack B, Sonny S, Ana L, Isreal O, Ciresa K, Lachlan P, Claire H, Brando B, Aidan H, Jack R and Tyler B.

A big thank you to my marvellous volunteers for Term 3 - Katherine O'Sullivan, Esme Rolleston, Tracy D'Ambrosio, Sam Cox, Tim Porter, Jane Rabbets, Rach Pentes, Chris Regan, Fiona Steinberg, Katarina Pilatic, Sarah Clark, Udayani Liyanage, Angalea Turnbull and Katrina Ciampa. We have also welcomed Sam Gonzalez, Daniela Agnello, Jane Hocking, Ivana Deleva and Bek Stevenson who have all either newly joined or helped out at recent special events. We had such a great vibe in the canteen last week for the Walkathon. It seemed like a cast of thousands but I was so grateful to have those helping hands not only to deliver over 100 pre-ordered recesses, 230 lunches, treats for the excited kiddies, but fruit platters (thanks to Woolies and to Keir and Kaye for this donation) and ice blocks for the excited walkers. See the attached picture of some of our super team from last Friday - can you believe we had 2 Jane's and 2 Sam's?
If you would like to be part of the fun please consider volunteering for the Canteen in Term 4. The link to sign up is being finalised but will be ready to go for next term.
It has become evident that I need to review some of the canteen prices. I will be doing this over the holidays so you may see some adjustments of pricing in the next term.
Thanks to everyone for their support of the Canteen this past term. Your support keeps this service running for our wonderful school.
There are lots of fun activities planned for SMOOSH Vacation care this Spring break and there is still time to enrol.
Haven't attended a SMOOSH Vacation Care before? That's okay, we are always welcoming new students to our service.
