The school is definitely buzzing as we get ready for our Annual Fete. This is a wonderful time when the community comes together to eat, have fun, be entertained and soak up the atmosphere of the day. Everyone is working hard behind the scene to make it a great day. Lots has been organised so you feel like you are going to a Country Fair!

Today we celebrated Harmony Day. Orange was the flavour of the day with the children very much aware of the meaning and purpose of the day. This is such an important day, especially this year in light of recent events in New Zealand. Harmony Day is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism. Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world; we need to celebrate this and work to maintain it. Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united in a common love and compassion for all. 

Last week our Year 5 and 6 students attended a three day outdoor education camp at Cooba. The children all returned safely with may tales to tell. A huge thank you to the staff who attended - Elizabeth Mahoney, Amanda Winne, Kathy Moir, Christopher Evans, Michael McFadden, Bob Fletcher, Jacinda Vaughan and Luke Donnelly. I'm not sure who had more fun the children or the teachers! Adventure stories to following in the coming weeks.
