Principal's Message

Dear St Monica’s families and friends,

For some of you this will be your last newsletter at St Monica’s Primary School. As your family’s journey at St Monica’s Primary School comes to an end I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for being an integral part of our community. Many of you have been here since your child started Kindergarten and for others you have only been with us a short time. Though you may no longer be walking through the front door each day you will always be a part of our extended St Monica’s Primary School family. The bonds formed, the memories created, and the milestones celebrated together will be carried with you and whilst this chapter closes, we hope you carry with you fond memories of the laughter, learning, and love shared here.

We farewell the following families - Browne, Burton, Ciampa, Connolly, Day, Del Cid Toro, den Hartog, Djokovic, Karvellas, Lawless, Litchfield, Moss, Munson, Nash, Philp, Pilatic, Rapeti, Rosser, Stinziani, Valeri.

Congratulations to our 63 Year 6 students who formally graduated from Primary School on Monday. It has been delightful watching you grow in your friendships, your learning, your understandings. Thank you for your leadership of our younger students and take with you the skills, values and attitudes you have developed over your 7 years of Primary Schooling.

This year has been a cause for celebration for all St Monica’s students who have shown me that accepting challenges isn’t just something you do – it’s who you are. From tackling tricky maths problems to participating in sports events and creating artistic masterpieces you have proven that hard work, resilience, and a sprinkle of humour can lead to amazing outcomes.

Our growing enrolments testament to the vibrant and welcoming spirit of our school. We are excited to begin 2025 with 397 students, ready to embark on a new year of learning and growth. A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated staff, who consistently go above and beyond to make our school a place of excellence, care, and community. Your tireless efforts and passion are deeply appreciated by all.

I'm pleased to announce the St Monica's staff in 2025.

PUPIL FREE DAYS  The last day of school for all students is Monday 16 December. Tuesday 17 December is a Pupil Free Day and TeamKids holiday care is available. We can't wait to welcome ALL students back, in full summer uniform, on Tuesday 4 February, 2025.

Uniform Shop - The uniform shop will be open between 10am-12pm Thursday 23 and Thursday 30 January 2025 for all of those back-to-school uniform purchases! A reminder alert will be sent out on Compass. Please place your uniform orders on Qkr! and our amazing team of ladies will pack them and have them ready for pickup in the New Year!

As we enter the festive season I wish everyone a happy and holy Christmas filled with love, joy, and peace. I hope to see many of you this evening at the carols where we will gather as a community to celebrate the season in song and spirit.

Enjoy the summer holidays with family and friends doing all the things that you love to do most.

Much love,
