Principal's Message
Dear St Monica’s families and friends,
Here’s a re-cap of the wonderful things that have happened this term:
- Close to 40 students have been enrolled into our 2025 Kindergarten cohort.
- We celebrated the important women in our lives with a Mother's Day breakfast and gift stall.
- Everyone scrubbed up and looked their best for school photos!
- We acknowledged ANZAC Day, Easter, Pentecost and First Eucharist through beautiful Whole School Prayer celebrations.
- Our Year 4s celebrated their First Eucharist!
- There was a great turn out at the Evatt shops for our Walk Safely to School day.
- We were well represented at a number of Sports Gala Days, Chess Tournaments and in the Rostrum Quarter Finals.
- We were blessed with beautiful days and amazing parent support for the school's Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals.
- The Book Fair was well supported.. lots of new holiday reads for many!
- Parent / Teacher interviews took place and the Semester One Reports will be sent home this afternoon.
I am not surprised that everyone is a bit tired and ready for a break. Having said that I am very impressed with the student's behaviour and willingness to learn right up until the end of term. Parents, you should be very proud of your children who have very clearly worked hard socially, emotionally and academically this term and demonstrated the Footstep of Resilience.
A huge thanks to the staff of St Monica's who always go above and beyond to make sure your child's educational, social and emotional needs are looked after whilst they are at school.
Staffing news – We wish Mrs Mira Lustica well as she embarks on some well-earned Long Service Leave from the beginning of next term. 4M are in very good hands with Mrs Foster and Mrs Blinksell. We welcome back Ms Carmel Rheinberger who returns to us refreshed after her Long Service Leave this term. I sincerely thanks Mrs Foster and Mrs Todd who covered 3W during Carmel’s absence.
Goodbye and Goodluck – We bid farewell to the following families who are leaving St Monica’s and off to join new school communities. To the Barac (Jack 4M), Machacek (Henry 2W) & Roland (Ada KM) families, we wish you well and we know that you will take the St Monica’s footsteps with you, everywhere you go. Remember you are always welcome to come back to say hello anytime!
Next term we welcome new student Emily P to St Monica's and she will be joining 3M.
A reminder that students return to school, in winter uniform, on Tuesday 23 July. Monday 22 July is a Pupil Free Day and TeamKids is available to all families on this day. To register your child for Vacation Care or the Pupil Free day, please go to https://www.teamkids.com.au/venues/st-monicas-primary-evatt-oshc/
Wishing you all a rejuvenating and enjoyable break. May the upcoming term be filled with new discoveries, personal growth, and remarkable achievements.
Peace and blessings,
