Our Lady of Perpetual Help Feast Day
Today is the Feast Day of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. St Monica’s Primary school, along with St Michael’s Primary Kaleen, are a part of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish. Our Lady of Perpetual Help is one of the better-known titles of Mary, the Mother of God, especially among the most needy and afflicted who feel the need for love and protection. Our Lady of Perpetual Help is known for her miracles and answers to prayer. At St Monica’s we began our feast day with a liturgy led by our Faith and Justice leaders and supported by our choir. During our liturgy we focused on Mary’s trust, obedience and resilience and that we can always ask Mary for help in our times of need. We followed our liturgy with a shared feast and activities with our buddy class.
St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal
Today we launched our St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal with the establishment of a Dignity Donation Station. Next Thursday students can wear their winter woollies or oodies in return for donating to our Dignity Donation Station. Students can donate any of the listed items to help people in our community in need. This newly established Dignity Donation Station will also be an ongoing place where families can support the vulnerable throughout the year.
