First Holy Communion
Last weekend, 50 of our St Monica’s students received Jesus in the Eucharist when they made their First Holy Communion during the four masses at St Monica’s and St Michael’s churches. Father Mick said during his homily that Jesus gave us the most precious gift when he gave himself to us in the bread and wine we receive when we come to Communion and that we are then commissioned and sent forth to be Jesus in the world. We congratulate these students and look forward to seeing them fully participating in the mass and being Jesus in our community and the wider world.

Are your kids on Roblox? Check out this new game!
Last Friday night Mrs Harris and myself were privileged to attend the St. Thomas More Forum Annual Lecture featuring Fr. Rob Galea on the topic of "Engaging an AI Generation." Father Rob Galea is an ordained Catholic Priest and is currently serving in Sandhurst Diocese, Victoria. He is well known appearing on the X Factor in 2015 and is an internationally acclaimed author, singer, and songwriter with eight album releases.
Father Rob’s talk was on how to engage our young people in the life of the church when mostly our young people are not present in our churches at mass on the weekends. He discussed meeting people where they are at and for our young people it is usually in the metaverse or Roblox as it is probably known in your household. To meet our youth where they are at he has developed a game called MetaSaint which is free and accessible through Roblox. Next time your kids are playing why not have a look. I will warn you though it is a lot of fun and you might even like it yourself.
