Update from the Fete Committee

With just a few days remaining until our eagerly anticipated school fete on 6 April the buzz around the school is palpable! We extend our gratitude to each and every one of you for your support – from our dedicated volunteers to our generous sponsors and donors who have contributed goods and prizes. Your commitment to making this event a success is very much appreciated.

Our fete last year raised $38,000 for our school – we are hoping to raise a similar amount this time round for our community. More importantly, we can’t wait to host this event and bring our community together to celebrate school.

This year’s theme is diversity, and we can’t wait to celebrate the different cultures of our school community. 

Our fete will showcase an array of exciting activities for all ages. Get ready to scale new heights on our rock-climbing wall, test your agility on the bungee run, or aim for the bullseye on our inflatable soccer dart board. For those feeling particularly generous, don’t miss out on the chance to engage in some sumo suit wrestling. Or perhaps enjoy a leisurely pony ride.

Sports enthusiasts can choose from soccer activities led by Coerver coaching, while AFL aficionados can hone their skills with the AFL Belconnen Cats. Meanwhile, there will be origami activities led by the Girl Guides and virtual reality experiences for the gamers.

But that’s not all! We’ve got remote-controlled cars, BMX demos plus and play, and even a visit from the Hall Rural Fire Brigade. Let’s not forget our inaugural market stall lane featuring twenty unique offerings from students and creatives within our community – a first for our school fete!

Of course, no fete would be complete without the timeless classics that we all know and love. These include our BBQ, popcorn, pretzels, fairy floss and corn on the cob. Peruse the garden and book stalls, and pop by slushies, Devonshire tea, cake stall and the canteen for hot dogs, curry puffs, and lolly bags.  

For those feeling lucky, try your hand at the tombola or spin the chocolate wheel for a chance to win fantastic prizes. Don’t forget to stop by the raffle stall for your tickets for the classroom raffle packs and major raffle, featuring coveted prizes including $1200 travel voucher, Nintendo Switch with game and accessories, and a $250 cash prize.
