National Botanic Gardens Excursion - Christopher Evans
Last week the students of Year 5 and 6 were very fortunate to enjoy a pleasant winter day on the excursion to National Botanic Gardens. The students have been learning about the adaptions that Australian plants and animals have made to survive the diverse range of climates in our country. At the Botanic Gardens they were able to explore a range of plants from the Red Centre right through to the rain forests of Tasmania and Queensland and see all the different things that plants do to make our continent home.
The students enjoyed the chance to explore the garden in groups and to complete their work at their own pace. Several members of the public complimented our students on their wonderful manners and the way that they behaved as they moved through the public spaces.
The Year 5 and 6 teachers would like to thank the volunteers who were able to come with us on the day and make our excursion possible!
