Dear St Monica’s families and friends,

What are some of the things in life that you are grateful for? A loving family, spouse, your children, a best friend, good health and well-being, education, pets, your home, your job?

I am very grateful for the enthusiastic and committed staff, with whom I have the pleasure of working with. I am very grateful for the amazing parent community, who work in remarkable partnership with the school. I am very grateful, for the 374 students under my care. Each and every child at St Monica’s is unique and they bring individual qualities, skills and brilliances. This gives me great joy!

It is easy to be thankful for the good things. However, a life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks. Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive, here are some ways to be thankful for your troubles, so that they become blessings!

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire - if you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something - for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times - during those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations - because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge - because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes - they will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary - because it means you've made a difference.

Staffing News

I am very pleased to welcome 3 new staff members. Ms Emily Carroll who is joining our Classroom Support team,  Mr Ethan Mass who will be our Youth Ministry Officer, and Miss Lily Ridley, student from Melba Copland College, who is assisting with our Playgroup and Classroom Support team.  I know that our school community will make them all feel very welcome!
