This year St Monica’s Primary School is partnering up with Global School Partners. Global School Partners is an organisation that helps to alleviate poverty through education and health support. They believe that every child has a right to education, and they want to increase awareness and understanding of different cultures.

St Monica’s has been fortunate enough to partner a primary school called Joe Maths in Kenya.

On Tuesday, Simon from Global Schools came and visited the year 5/6 classes. Simon talked in more detail about our partner school Joe Maths and went through a day in the life of one of their students. After the talk with the year 5/6 classes, Simon and the Social Justice leaders discussed ways that St Monica’s will be able to make a difference to Joe Maths Primary School. Our first fundraiser will be held in a few weeks’ time to raise money for new stationery, exercise books and text books.
