Canteen News - Wendy Regan
For Recess on Thursday 7April 2022 we will be including Hot Cross Buns on the menu. The Hot Cross Bun menu will be available from Friday 25 March. The normal recess menu will also be available on that day. The sale of Hot Cross Buns coincides with our celebration of Holy Week and the Stations of the Cross. A percentage of profits from morning tea on this day will be donated to Caritas and this amount will be published to the school community. Cut off for sales of Hot Cross Buns will be Monday 4 April 2022 at 5.30pm. In gratitude for our canteen customers, a ticket will be created for every recess order received via Qkr! for Thursday 7 April 2022. There will be a lucky prize of a Master Foods cooler bag filled with goodies from the canteen and our canteen manager. This lucky draw acknowledges my appreciation for your custom of the canteen, but also your support of our Hot Cross Bun morning tea, so that we can further contribute to the efforts of Caritas.
If anyone has a spare hour or so on the morning of 7April to assist with the morning tea your time would be appreciated. Please feel free to pop your details on our volunteer sheet link.volunteersignup.org/3P9AJ
Speaking of volunteering efforts, I am so grateful to the following people who contributed their valuable time last week - Trina Browne, Samantha Cox, Fiona Steinberg, Katherine O’Sullivan, Chris Regan, Tim Porter and a special welcome to our new volunteer Anoushka Goodger. I couldn’t deliver over 240 lunches (in two days) without the contribution of these wonderful, giving volunteers.
Lastly, for all those children missing chicken nuggets, I am introducing chicken tenders to the menu on Thursdays at lunch. I hope that children find something that they can enjoy from the canteen. Thanks once again to everyone for your support of our school canteen.
