National Simultaneous Storytime

Yesterday at St Monica’s students gathered with their buddy classes to join over 1 million children in 9,860 locations across Australia and New Zealand for Simultaneous Storytime.  The students enjoyed the story "Alpacas with Maracas" by Matt Cosgrave. They laughed at the funny antics of best friends alpacas Mac and Al as they tried playing different instruments for the talent contest.   This was an excellent opportunity for the students to have fun engaging with Australian literature.

Year 6 Book Club

This term, I am starting a Book Club for Year 6 students.  This is an opportunity for parents and children to read the same book and join with other parents and children to discuss the book.  The book for this term will be a Children’s Book Council of Australia shortlisted book titled “Lenny’s Book of Everything’ by Karen Foxlee which is available at bookstores.  We will meet at a time to be decided on Thursday 27 June to discuss the book.
