Canteen News - Wendy Regan
We have been having some fun in the canteen lately. Some of our Year 6 leaders have been serving at recess on Thursdays. They have been doing a wonderful job and learning some great skills.
Our volunteers joined in the fun of Winter Warm Up/Onesie Day; lots of laughs, lots of hard work, and the children loved it! Thank you so much to Katherine O'Sullivan, Rach Pentes, Jane Rabbets, Tracy D'Ambrosio and Chris Regan for your service and time last week.
If you want to join in the canteen fun I love to welcome people in our community into the canteen. All you need is a current WWVP card and a willingness to help. Please click on the following web link (or copy it into your web browser if clicking doesn't work) to go to the signup sheet:
To sign up, just follow the instructions on the page. Thank you for volunteering!
Lastly, we are no longer allowed single use plastic cutlery. We have introduced metal spoons and forks. About two thirds of the children are doing a fabulous job of returning these, but unfortunately, I have had many spoons not returned each week. I now actually have no spare spoons to give to children to be used for frozen yogurts and slushy cups. Unfortunately, this is not sustainable, and it is likely that I will have to increase the cost of all products that require cutlery. I would prefer not to do this, so if your child is enjoying one of the products that require cutlery, please remind them to return their cutlery to the canteen.
