Daily Review

As part of Catholic Education's Catalyst Program, we have 6 teachers participating in High Impact Teaching Practices training with Toni Hatten-Roberts from COGLearn. As part of this training, teachers are currently implementing as a trial, Daily Review. A Daily Review is a process of reviewing and practising key strategies and content every day. Teachers are implementing this explicit instruction at the start of each of their maths lessons for 20 minutes. 

When you use explicit instruction, you follow a set of sequential steps:

• Identify a clear, specific objective.
• Break the information into chunks.
• Model with clear explanations.
• Verbalise the thinking process.
• Provide opportunities to practise.
• Give instant feedback.
