Principal's Message

Dear Parents

It has been wonderful to see all the parents connecting up with their child's teacher/s during this week. We have had a terrific uptake on the offer of face to face or zoom meetings. I am sincerely grateful to the staff for their generosity of time; they are very keen to learn all they can about their new class group.

Next Wednesday Fr Loi has very kindly offered to say Mass at 11.00am for the St Monica's staff and children for Ash Wednesday. Unfortunately, we are unable to invite parents due to the COVID restriction on numbers. Any parents wishing to attend Mass can join the 9.30am parish Mass.

First Eucharist Parent/Child Formation Evening

Tomorrow evening the Parent/ Child Formation session will commence at 6pm. The children involved have been given the reading with reflection questions and a cross to decorate during the session as a family. The Zoom link for the session is: https://cgcatholic.zoom.us/j/98091975011 The teachers are looking forward to seeing the children and parents tomorrow evening!

Kindergarten Health Checks

Kindergarten Health Check forms will be sent home tomorrow. Please complete the Questionnaire and return to school by Friday 26 February 2021. Kindergarten Health Checks will take place at a date to be confirmed.

Punctuality to School

It is vital that parents ensure children are at school on time each day. Late arrivals are a distraction and delay the start of the morning session. Children arriving after 8.55am must enter via the front office to collect a pass to be given to their teacher

WORKING WITH VULNERABLE PEOPLE Cards

Individuals working or volunteering in 'Activities or Services for Children' must hold a Working with Vulnerable People Card. All volunteers considering helping in our classrooms and around the school in any way ie our classroom helpers, canteen helpers, those coming in to help with art or craft, those parents/grandparents/carers who help out at our sports carnivals must register.  All helpers should view the Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card like holding a licence to drive. All volunteers are required, under the Act, to carry their WWVP card when working with children.  Have you checked your card is current?

Continue to stay safe and healthy and may God's blessings be with everyone.
