Principal's Message

Dear Parents

We have now entered the second half of the term with next week designated as our  SABBATH week for everyone to catch up before the end of the term arrives. Despite not being able to hold many of our traditional end of year events the teachers are working hard, with the children, to produce an amazing school magazine that will capture events and the many special moments that have occurred during 2020.

Kinder Orientation

On Wednesday afternoon 43 very excited preschoolers and their parents attended our first Kinder Orientation session. It was so lovely to be able to gather, while social distancing, to connect with current and new families. I look forward to reconnecting again for our second session today.
School Reports
The Semester Two reports are currently being prepared and will be sent home in Week 9. Comments will be included on this report due to a request from many parents across our school System.
Walkathon and Colour Fun Day - Friday 20 November
Tomorrow is our walkathon and to end the day we are going to have another colour run. Children are to wear old clothes and bring a towel to sit on to avoid the powder spreading, should they be picked up.  Remember to send your child to school with a water bottle, hat and they must wear their joggers. Don't forget the sunscreen!
Children must return all sponsorship money to be included in the class prize draw that will occur after lunch. Qkr payments preferred if possible.
Week 6 Stars Awards, Sport Leaders Presentations
Awards will be issued on Monday due to Friday being a very busy day at St Monica's. The Year 5 children interested in being a 2021 Sports Leader will read their prepared letters to their house group tomorrow, prior to lunch. Names will not be announced until all leadership groups are finalised next week.

Registering with Check In CBR app
St Monica's is now registered to use the Check In CBR QR code as one of our COVID-19 protocols for larger gatherings where parents or visitors are present at important school events. We will advertise when families will be required to use the app. Upcoming events include Kinder Orientation and the Year 6 End of Year liturgies. Parents will be required to download the app and scan our allocated QR code when arriving at an event. Paper sign-in will be available should families be unable to add the app to their phone.  Please remember if unwell children or parents should not attend a school event.
