Meet our new Canteen Manager - Mrs Wendy Regan

Welcome to the team!

Thank you to the St Monica's community for the warm welcome that I have received upon joining the team as the new Canteen Manager. I have big shoes to fill and thank Sam Manning for her support.

There are lots of eager children awaiting the reopening of the canteen. I have volunteered at the school canteen for many years, but have found that I have much to learn in my new role. I appreciate all of your patience thus far and into the rest of this term as I get everything up and running.

Qkr will be back up on Tuesday afternoon for people to place orders for lunches. Utilising Qkr is time-saving and a great way for me to report data on ordering history so that I can ensure we have foods that are enjoyed by our children.

VOLUNTEERS - I would love to have your help, whether you are experienced or not, many hands make light work, feel free to call by and see me or drop me an email (wendy.regan@cg.catholic.edu.au). Over the coming weeks, I am hoping to have a volunteers app available for rostering. Watch this space.

The lunch menu is currently reduced in Term 1. This will allow me to ensure that food that is promised is delivered. Over the term, I will be setting up our future menu. I am training with Nutrition Australia in March, meeting with our suppliers and looking at some greener products and work practices. Once I have really settled in I will be looking for input from our community on ideas you all have to make our canteen FABULOUS.

I am excited to reveal that I have been working with Mrs Stonham on a delicious first special lunch for the year, helping us to focus on the meaning of Lent. Save the date - Friday 3 April 2020 for FISH AND FRIES FRIDAY!

Lastly, thank you to Evelyn David-Hoole, Michelle Bowman, Angela Hose and Esme Rolleston for being my first canteen volunteers. My quote of the week is inspired by you ladies "volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart." - Elizabeth Andrew
